Dr. Tatiana Carrasquilla, MD

Dr. Carrasquilla (pronounced like “cars and tequila”) is a general medicine physician who was frustrated by how difficult it was to refer her patients to a mental health specialist. As a patient herself, she was shocked when it took five attempts to finally be able to schedule with a therapist (fortunately, with a good one!). Being Well aims to provide a much needed service in a way that is simple, timely, affordable, convenient, and pleasant. New patients are currently being accepted through telehealth and in the state of Alabama only. Dr. Tatiana Carrasquilla is a native of Colombia and immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of 7. She received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology and a Minor in Psychology from the University of Alabama in 2015. She then graduated from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois in 2019. She attended Northwestern University McGaw at Delnor Family Medicine Residency until 2021 and received her medical license to practice in the state of Alabama on February 2022. She has seen numerous patients with mental health concerns, both adults and children, and predominantly participated in telehealth visits during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is a firm believer in therapy; she herself has experienced anxiety and depression and has seen therapists to develop personal management strategies. She has taken courses in mindfulness meditation, motivational interviewing, and natural pain management and conducted research in parent-child relationships. She is an avid reader and enjoys learning from her patients just as much as teaching them.
